“ Absolutely lovely restaurant! Food was super delicious. Oysters and mussels were amazing and full. I had the steak/fries with pepper sauce. Meat was super tender, great sauce. Fries delicious, served with mayo. My friend ordered the mussels, so plumped in a white wine sauce. Other friend had scallops and chorizo, delicious as well. It is bring your own wine. We also took as an appetizer the tempura asparagus in a red tomato sauce, super delicious. Service is impeccable, professional, fast, extremely friendly and not snob. Prices are very friendly. They have a terrasse but was still too cold. Will be back without hesitation! Love this gem! ”
“ My husband and I went here for his birthday and it was the perfect way to celebrate! He had the pork cheek which melted in your mouth and I enjoyed the duck (I usually don’t like duck but wanted to give it another try!) and now I can say I officially love duck! Thank you for a memorable night. We will be back. ”
“ We had a fantastic dinner at Les Canailles and absolutely loved it! The place has a simple, cozy vibe that made us feel right at home from the start. The menu is where it really shines, packed with creative takes on French classics. This spot might look unassuming, but the food is truly spectacular. We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes! ”
“ Food was great, server was friendly and professional. I do want to mention it’s a bring your wine kind of restaurant, so it’s not very friendly for solo eaters. Also it allows bigger groups of people so it could get noisy. If you are looking for a date spot and able to chat nicely, I wouldn’t recommend here but a good spot for casual eating. — they change their menu frequently so be sure to check when the photos were taken. ”
“ Had a great experience here it’s a bring your own wine restaurant so they pay more attention to getting more flavour in the food which is always good. Waiter really nice and polite bilingual didn’t get his name but very unprofessional and attentive. Went with the cod to start then salmon tartare which was amazing presentation and taste was really enjoyable experience. The menu is small which is better and they do have specials, l do prefer restaurants with small menu the food is always better quality and staff have more knowledgeable about everything. ”
“ Hi Nice little restaurant in the east . Excellent cuisine . Well prepared duck breast with yam puree and mixed carrots . Prices are way lower then in the downtown restaurants for equivalent Haute cuisine I will definitely return Second visit Warm Brie And angus aaa beef strip loin With carottes puree. Second guest Salmon tartar Lobster ravioli Third guest Beef tartar Angus AAA beef strip loin All Excellent Service was excellent . Reasonable prices Cheers Mike ”
“ One of the best dining experience I’ve had in Montreal, most restaurants don’t even hold a flame to this one! The place was charming w/ great service, and not only was the food unbelievable, it was beautifully presented. I highly recommend every item pictured (which is everything we had!) 5 ”
“ Les Canailles is a vibrant French bistro that delivers on classic dishes with a lively atmosphere. The 8oz steak frites is a must-try, with perfectly cooked steak and crispy, golden fries. The accompanying sauce, while a bit too salty for some, adds a flavorful kick. Beyond the steak, the menu offers other delicious options. The tartare was expertly seasoned and the salad was fresh with a delightful dressing. Service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff. However, the restaurant can get quite loud. Overall, Les Canailles is an excellent choice for a lively and enjoyable night out! ”
